Fair Trade—Justice/Hope/Dignity

24 Nov

I am so proud that I am the leader of a church that believes that the Gospel of Christ is more than about just words.  Words are so cheap in our “day,” and we are choosing to show what we believe by taking action to bring a little bit of hope to the poorest of the poor in our world.

On Saturday, Dec. 6th, NCC is hosting a “fair trade bazaar” from 10am to 6pm.  The goal of the bazaar is to give hope to very talented groups of artisans in our world by purchasing their beautifully hand-made goods for a fair price.  What a novel concept, huh?

This isn’t charity.  This isn’t a hand-out.  This is a hand-up from people who care and who want to connect with the needs of people in our world who don’t have the same material opportunities that we do in the wealthy western world.  Check out THIS LINK to find out more!
